Job Description
An Autism/Behavior Consultant plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with autism and their families. They assess client needs, develop tailored intervention strategies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective outcomes. Key Responsibilities Participate in assessments to identify individual needs and challenges, as well as special education eligibility Develop and implement behavior management programs and intervention strategies Provide education and support to school staff and families regarding autism and behavior management Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust as necessary Provide training to staff on autism and behavior related topics Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mild Intervention or other related area Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) Strong understanding of behavior analysis Experience in developing and implementing individualized plans Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with families and professionals This is a contracted school year position, beginning at the start of the 2026-27 school year. Travel to assigned schools within the South Central Area Special Education Cooperative is required.
