This position may also support students in Shore's programs periodically, as needed to cover staff absences. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced BCBA and will also have the demonstratable ability to work well with diverse families, school district and Collaborative leadership, and understands the IEP Process.
Responsibilities :
In conjunction with the Districts and the Students' Teams, the BCBA for District Services may: Conduct descriptive behavior assessments (including FBAs) and interpret the results of those assessments Design effective behavior analytic interventions Develop data collection systems Develop and supervise implementation of behavior plans Design and oversee interventions that are consistent with the dimensions of applied behavior analysis Identify the need for program or data collection systems revisions or termination; make recommendations as appropriate Provide training to school district and Shore staff, individually or in groups Participate in IEP meetings, case conferences, trainings and other meetings as required. Participate in and complete Safety Care Trainer training; train new and veteran staff in safety care as needed throughout the year. Participate fully in any and all physical requirements of the position, i.e. implementing routine behavioral interventions as well as crisis intervention, lifting and transferring students, etc. Provide consultation services Develop or guide ongoing implementation of teaching procedures for vocational, life skills or academics (district training, ADLs, TA) Provide services and consultation in the home Assist in Shore's Adult Programs as needed Any other duties assigned or requested
Qualifications :
BCBA Certification Maintain renewal and recertification of BCBA standards 3 years experience with students with developmental disabilities who exhibit challenging behaviors as well as students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and those with therapuetic and mental health needs At least 3 years' experience working with students with IEPs in public school, including being part of the IEP process Familiarity with relevant regulations Excellent written and oral communication skills required Must be flexible and willing to work in multiple programs and districts Master's Degree in special education, psychology, or a related field from an accredited four year college or university required. Ideal candidate will have also demonstrated success in consulting and providing workshops and in-service programs. This is a year round position. Shore Educational Collaborative staff are part of Massachusetts' State Retirement System.
