The BCBA conducts descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments, including functional analyses, and provides behavior analytic interpretations of the result. The BCBA creates and implements function-based behavior intervention plans, and teaches others to carry out ethical and effective behavior analytic interventions based on published research and designs and delivers instruction in behavior analysis. The following outline of the role and responsibilities is intended to provide a broad overview, but is subject to change according to the needs of LPVEC, as required by the Executive Director.

ESSENTIAL JOB

FUNCTIONS1.Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments with or without a FA2.Develop/assist with individual behavior management programs for students in the classroom, home and/or inclusion setting3.Direct staff training and development around principles of ABA4.Provide program/individual staff consultation on therapeutic staff design/implementation of BIPs5.Provide program/individual staff consultation on development/implementation of curriculum grounded in principles of ABA6.Facilitate Team consultation meetings with classroom teachers/ related service providers/ paraprofessional staff7.Modify training materials when needed8.Review required BIP and ABA methodology with new employees9.Schedule and document personal provision of services to students, as outlined on IEPs10.Maintain daily intervention notes11.Provide guidance for and indirect monitoring of staff entries in daily intervention notes12.Assist school-based staff with development of learning objectives rooted in theories of ABA13.Complete student program supervision notes14.Engage in social-behavioral elements of annual IEP process (attendance at Team mtgs, updating of PLEP A/B, update of current performance data, development of goals/benchmarks, progress reports, annual summary, etc.) as needed15.Perform other duties as requested by the program supervisor or the Director of Special & Alternative Education, within the scope of job description
