Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Behavior Technician, where you will play a vital role in supporting children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. Your energetic and compassionate approach will help implement behavioral therapy strategies designed to improve daily functioning, social skills, and independence. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve while gaining valuable experience in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and special education practices. You will work closely with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care that promotes growth and positive behavior change. Duties Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to support clients' developmental goals Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, feeding, and toileting, to foster independence Collect and record data on client behaviors accurately during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments Support teaching sessions by reinforcing positive behaviors and implementing behavior management techniques Collaborate with supervisors to develop and update care plans tailored to each client's unique needs Maintain confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations and ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and up-to-date Provide compassionate patient care while working with children and individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities in various settings Skills Strong understanding of behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis principles Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, especially autism spectrum disorder (ASD) Ability to assist with ADLs and implement behavior management strategies effectively Excellent data collection skills for tracking client progress and documenting interventions Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance for maintaining confidentiality Effective teaching skills combined with patience, empathy, and strong communication abilities Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team focused on behavioral health and special education goals This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their expertise in behavioral health while making a positive impact.
