Job Description

Are you looking for a rewarding position working with children with Autism? We are currently seeking Behavior Technicians for new openings within our organization. We have both full- time and part-time positions available. This position works directly with children in a preschool or home setting carrying out ABA programming under the supervision of a BCBA. Great Strides is one of the original providers of ABA services in the St Louis area and we are still BCBA owned and operated! Our focus is providing premier quality ABA services that are tailored to the needs and learning style of each child we serve. At Great Strides we utilize a natural environment teaching approach and believe that children learn best through play. Staffing ratios are 1:1 but therapy is conducted at the individual and small group level in our clinic setting. We are seeking individuals who love working with children, who are enthusiastic, focused, and driven to learn.
Clinic Schedule:
•Must be available for full listed session time
AM Session:
8:30-12pm
PM Session:
12-3:30pm Tuesday-Thursday we offer evening sessions from 4-6pm We do not work weekends Summer help needed June through August. Potential for continued position following summer exists. Responsibilities and Duties Applies behavioral principles consistently in all interactions with clients Follow a structured curriculum to teach language, play, social, motor, and self-help skills to children with autism under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts Teaches the clients to acquire language, academic, self-help, and social skills as stated in the treatment plan Assists students, as needed, to acquire academic and/or appropriate life skills. This may include toilet training, eating, and other self-help skills. Supports all members of the staff and assists with ideas, activity/instructional material development, suggestions and work duties Actively participates in staff training programs designed to increase overall skills Completes daily session notes and other requested written assignments related to the clients Communicates in a professional and respectful manner with parents, behavior analysts/consultants, therapists, parents and clients Attends and participates in meetings and other GSBC sponsored events Observes records, and reports the condition and behavior of the clients, including maintaining daily records during the day Functions as an active member of the treatment team Works with clients, consultants, staff, families, and community to implement client's treatment plans Consistently implements behavior plans to reduce client's socially inappropriate behavior and promote appropriate social behaviors Effectively responds to and manages crisis situations which may include client physical aggression Completes all paperwork in a detailed, accurate, consistent and timely manner Adherence to GSBC policies and procedures Qualifications and Skills Availability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week At least a high school diploma. Candidates with at least two years of college credit or an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Counseling, Speech, or related fields are preferred. Early childhood experience preferred. Experience in ABA is not required; however, one to three years of applied experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders or related disorders is preferred. Registered Behavior Technician Certification not required, but highly preferred Experience and knowledge of Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) not required, but such candidates will be given preference.

Required Licenses or Certifications:
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certificate (preferred) CPR/First Aid (preferred but training can be provided) Drivers License and proof of valid
Insurance Other Requirements:
Have reliable means of transportation Pass criminal record background check Submit to drug or alcohol testing, if requested Current certification for CPR/First Aid, or willingness to complete training if provided
Physical Requirements:
include but are not limited to sitting on floor, kneeling, bending, squatting, lifting and other physical activities that may be associated with handling young children - specifically those with Autism.
