September 1, 2026 (or as negotiated) Position Summary The Bordentown Regional School District (BRSD) invites applications for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join its Child Study Team. The BCBA provides comprehensive applied behavior analysis (ABA) services to students with disabilities across all district schools, with a focus on students with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental and behavior challenges. The BCBA collaborates closely with the Child Study Team, classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, building administration, and families to design, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention programs that promote positive student outcomes in the least restrictive environment. This position plays a critical leadership and consultative role within the district's special services framework. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Behavioral Assessment and Program Development Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and comprehensive skills-based assessments for students referred by the Child Study Team Develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) grounded in applied behavior analysis and aligned with IEP goals. Design and oversee skill acquisition programs targeting communication, social, academic, adaptive, and functional life skills. Analyze student data on an ongoing basis to monitor progress, identify trends, and modify programming as appropriate. Participate actively as a member of IEP teams, contributing behavioral expertise and data-driven recommendations. Staff Training and Consultation Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and general education staff in the implementation of behavior support strategies. Conduct regular observations in classrooms and school environments; provide instructional feedback based on direct observation data. Deliver professional development workshops and in-service trainings on ABA principles, behavior management, and positive behavior supports. Supervise and provide BACB-compliant supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and behavior technicians working in the district. Consult with building Child Study Teams and administration on systemic behavioral and programmic concerns. Collaboration and Family Engagement Partner with families to share progress, explain behavioral programming, and provide parent training in support of home-school consistency. Collaborate with outside ABA providers, residential programs, and agency partners to coordinate behavioral services for students with intensive needs. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, transition planning conferences, and annual reviews. Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators regarding student behavioral progress and programming adjustments. Documentation and Compliance Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation including assessment reports, BIPs, session notes, data summaries, and supervisory logs. Ensure all behavioral services comply with BACB ethical guidelines, NJDOE regulations, district Board policies, and applicable state and federal law, including IDEA. Assist in the development and review of IEPs as they relate to behavioral goals, services, and accommodations. Complete required reporting for student records in compliance with district data management systems. Maintain active BACB certification and NJ licensure, including required continuing education and supervision logs. Qualifications Required Active certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution. Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LBA) through the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, or eligibility to obtain NJ LBA licensure prior to start date. Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing ABA services in a school or educational setting. Demonstrated experience conducting FBAs, developing BIPs, and implementing data-driven behavioral programming. Strong knowledge ofIDEA, NJ
special education law, and best practices in inclusive and specialized educational settings. Experience supervising and training paraprofessionals and/or behavior technicians. Ability to pass a NJ criminal history background check as required byN.J.S.A 18A
6-7.1 et seq. Preferred Experience working with students across a K-12 continuum in a public school district setting. Familiarity with NJ Child Study Team procedures and IEP development underN.J.A.C. 6A
14. Additional NJ Department of Education certification (e.g., Teacher of Students with Disabilities, School Psychologist, Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant). Experience with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) systems and supporting students with complex communication needs. Proficiency with data collection and behavior management software (e.g., CentralReach, Catalyst, Rethink Ed).
