Rooted in evidence‑based practices, we are dedicated to delivering individualized care that promotes independence, safety, and meaningful outcomes for every client. We are currently seeking compassionate and motivated Individual Support Technicians (IST I, IST II, and IST III) to support youth (ages 5-21) receiving Individual Support Services (ISS) in home and community‑based settings. Job Summary As an Individual Support Technician, you will work directly with youth with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) to help them acquire, retain, and generalize assisted daily living skills, adaptive behavior, and socialization. Services are delivered using Positive Behavior Support (PBS) strategies in clients' homes and outpatient youth centers. Providers typically work 5-35 hours per week, with 2-4 hour shifts scheduled based on family and program needs. This role is hands‑on skill‑building (not clinical therapy) and focuses on independence, functional life skills, and client safety.
Role Focus:
Program planning, oversight, supervision, and data‑driven decision‑making. Roles & Responsibilities (All Levels) Provide individualized support to youth in home and community settings Implement Positive Behavior Support (PBS) strategies and skill acquisition plans Support development of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Behavioral Needs, including: Self‑Care:
eating, dressing, hygieneFunctional Skills:
telephone use, fine motor tasksBehavioral Support:
self‑calming, proactive strategies, challenging behavior redirectionSocialization:
communication, community integration Teach appropriate social behavior Utilize redirection and proactive strategies to address challenging behavior Train and coach parents/guardians to support skill generalization and consistency Collect accurate service data and submit visit notes per compliance standards Ensure client safety and well‑being at all times Participate in case reviews, team meetings, supervision, and required trainings Follow all agency policies, NJCSOC/DDD
guidelines, and professional standards Develop and update behavior support and skill acquisition plans Analyze data trends to monitor progress and outcomes Provide supervision and guidance to IST II and IST III staff Ensure fidelity of implementation across service deliveriesMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in psychology, special education, social work, human services, or related field 1 year supervised experience developing and implementing PBS/ADL intervention plans Experience supervising or mentoring support staff Strong data analysis and documentation skills Qualifications (All Levels) Authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available) Must serve youth who meet NJ ISS eligibility criteria (CSOC/DDD eligible, NJ residents) Valid New Jersey Driver's License and reliable transportation Ability to work independently in home and community settings Must pass all state and federal background checks Pre‑employment, post‑conditional job offer drug screen required Bilingual (Spanish‑speaking) candidates are encouraged to apply Skills Active listening and emotional intelligence Patience, compassion, and empathy Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to implement structured plans with flexibility Organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Familiarity with evidence‑based practices for individuals with I/DD Strong engagement and behavioral redirection skillsBenefits:
