Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of Jersey is seeking a Behavior Specialist III ( IOC) for the Adult Autism Services Center.
Among the key duties of the position are the following: Implements a variety of behavior analytic strategies in support of successful outcomes for adults with autism across the areas of skill acquisition and/or behavior reduction goals throughout center-based and community-based environments.
Collects, interprets, and analyzes behavioral data.
Contributes to the development of behavior analytic instructional programming under the supervision of a Behavior Analyst. FLSA Nonexempt

Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or related field.
Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
At least 6 months of prior experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in an ABA setting. Certifications/Licenses Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work well with adults with autism that have significant adaptive, physical, and/or behavioral support needs across various center-based and community-based settings.
Competent communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in community-based settings supporting adults with autism.
Prior experience/certification in crisis management.
Prior experience using web-based data collection/analysis software.
Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite. Equipment Utilized Microsoft Office Suite.
Web-based data collection and analysis platform. Physical Demands and Work Environment Supports adults with ASD during public transportation.
Completes training in crisis management.
Expected to provide direct care to adult patients in severe behavioral crisis and work with a team in providing treatment to patients in behavioral crisis. T
May work with patients with multiple forms of severe challenging behavior including, but not limited to, intense aggression, self-injury, elopement, expulsion (spitting out food or liquids during treatment), or property destruction.
Must be able to move, list, and carry patients and objects.
Moving, lifting, or transferring of patients may involve independently lifting up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assisting with weights of more than one hundred (100) pounds.
Requires the use of abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
Frequent movement, use of limbs, and good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
