In this role, you will implement evidence-based behavioral interventions, support skill development, and assist in creating positive, lasting change for individuals with autism and other developmental challenges. Responsibilities Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote skill acquisition and reduce challenging behaviors. Collect accurate, detailed data on client behaviors, progress, and response to interventions to inform ongoing treatment adjustments. Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, feeding, and other self-care routines, supporting their independence. Support educational and behavioral goals by teaching new skills in various settings, including home, school, or clinic environments. Maintain confidentiality of client information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure secure handling of medical records and documentation. Collaborate with supervisors, parents, teachers, and other team members to develop care plans that meet each child's unique needs. Participate in ongoing training related to behavioral health, behavior management techniques, medical terminology, and documentation standards. Experience Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred. Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles is essential. Experience assisting with ADLs and implementing behavior management strategies is advantageous. Familiarity with medical documentation practices, medical terminology, and maintaining accurate records is beneficial. Strong communication skills and patience are critical for building trusting relationships with clients and team members. Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or willingness to obtain certification is required or encouraged. A background in special education or teaching can enhance your effectiveness in this role.
