Job Description

The Registered Behavior Technician implements individualized ABA programs under the direct supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA. The RBT collects accurate behavioral data, builds therapeutic relationships with clients and families, and contributes to positive client outcomes through consistent, high-quality service delivery. Key Responsibilities Implement behavior intervention plans and skill acquisition programs exactly as designed and directed by the supervising BCBA or BCaBA — no deviation from programs without supervisor authorization Collect accurate, reliable data on all target behaviors and skill programs during every session; enter data into the Rethink EMR on the date of service Complete session notes in the Rethink EMR on the date of service; notes must be signed and finalized within 24 hours Actively participate in all scheduled BCBA or BCaBA supervision contacts and implement feedback Communicate immediately with supervising BCBA or BCaBA regarding clinical concerns, safety incidents, or behavioral escalations Maintain professional boundaries with clients and families at all times per Mirabelle Care and BACB standards Complete annual RBT competency assessment and credential renewal per BACB requirements Attend all required training including Mirabelle Care mandatory training and any BCBA assigned clinical training Represent Mirabelle Care professionally in all client, family, and school interactions High school diploma or equivalent required Current, active RBT certification issued by the BACB in good standing; newly hired staff without RBT must obtain certification within 90 days of hire Completion of BACB 40-hour RBT training (effective January 2026: must meet updated 3rd Edition TCO requirements) Experience working with children or individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or related conditions preferred No active disciplinary sanctions on RBT certification Reliable transportation for home-based and community service delivery as applicable Clearance of all required background checks and OIG/SAM.gov exclusion screens Supervision Requirement RBTs must receive a minimum of 5% of their total monthly direct service hours in supervision from a qualified BCBA or BCaBA. Effective January 1, 2026, only BCBAs and BCaBAs may supervise RBTs per BACB policy. Noncertified RBT supervisors are no longer permitted.
