Behavioral Specialist

•One year of recorded job experience with young children/child is required• Participate in weekly EF staff meetings. Help prepare materials for lesson plans for program and peer group days. Follow Activity Matrix and Zone Chart for children. Ensure necessary supports are used for children with autism, such as visual schedules, mini-schedules, first/then, environmental cues, transition objects, prompts, PECS, token reinforcement systems, etc. Ensure child's materials (data sheets, reinforcers, PECS, visual schedule, etc.) are prepared for the day. Greet parents and children at the classroom door daily. Implement evidence-based intervention plans and collect data. Initiate and facilitate transitions according to the daily schedule. Lead/facilitate teacher-directed activities. Be fun & engaging in play with children during unstructured activities like learning centers, outside, and motor room. Assist with toileting routines of children. Use positive reinforcement for targeted skills for program & peer group children. Communicate effectively (clear, simple instructions) and respectfully with children. Offer children choices whenever appropriate. Communicate with family members about their child's day. Summarize and analyze child's data daily. Daily debriefing with team members. Assist with daily cleaning checklist. Work 2 Family Education evenings per cycle.
