Key Responsibilities Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position: The Behavior Analyst Trainees at USDC work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and with other team members to provide and improve behavioral health services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Behaviorists as USDC work on a holistic, beautiful, residential campus to conduct functional behavior assessments, develop and train behavior support plans, and collaborate across the interdisciplinary teams. They also train staff members in behavior support and intervention. BCBA Fieldwork supervision is provided.
Examples of Duties:
Conduct functional behavior assessments to understand the root causes of behaviors. Develop individualized behavior support plans based on the functional behavior assessment. Collect and analyze data. Work collaboratively with team members and family members. Ensure behavior support plans follow ethical guidelines, relevant regulations, and in accordance with best practices. Stay up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in applied behavior analysis. Assist team in crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed. Train staff on BSPs and behavior principles. Participate in supervision for BCBA fieldwork hours and certification. Qualifications Minimum or "day-one" qualifications: Enrolled in a formal Masters Degree program leading to BCBA Certification Bachelors degree 1 year of experience with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications: 1+ year of experience with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities Within 2 years of BCBA certification Applied behavior analysis foundation About the Role This internship position is designed to assist students in the completion of their Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certificationThis internship provides masters level students from an accredited institution of higher education the fieldwork hours they need to meet the BCBA requirements. USDC will provide supervision by a BCBA. Interns are responsible to complete their supervision documentation according to the deadlines. Location
