In this vital role, you will work directly with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, to implement evidence-based behavioral interventions. Your expertise will help improve clients' quality of life by promoting positive behaviors and skill development. As a Behavior Consultant, you will collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and individual services teams to deliver personalized care plans rooted in a multidisciplinary approach and behavioral therapy principles. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify client needs and develop tailored intervention strategies. Collect, analyze, and document data meticulously during therapy sessions to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed. Provide direct patient care, including conducting intake assessments, ongoing patient evaluation, and supporting families through education and training. Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and safeguarding client confidentiality at all times. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including special educators, medical professionals, and caregivers—to coordinate care and optimize outcomes. Participate in ongoing training sessions on behavioral health topics, medical terminology, documentation standards, and diagnostic evaluation procedures. Skills Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder. Proficiency in data collection methods and analyzing behavioral data to inform treatment decisions. Familiarity with medical documentation practices, medical records management, and medical terminology relevant to behavioral health. Ability to conduct intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations with sensitivity and professionalism. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure the privacy and security of patient information. Excellent communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, caregivers, and team members.
