Job Description
Guardian Haven Academy, Inc. is looking for individuals with Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) as verified through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), who will provide behavioral support to clients with developmental disabilities to help manage behavioral, emotional, and social difficulties. Ideal candidates would provide applied behavior analysis (ABA) assessments and clinical services to children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities in the office, home, and community settings. This position is both office and community-based. Duties include providing academic and behavioral support to clients, collecting behavioral data, collaborating to create Behavioral Intervention Plans, and professionally communicating with Behavior Analysts, families, and staff. We seek an enthusiastic, creative team player that has demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The essential duties and responsibilities of this position includes: Administer initial evaluations and re-evaluations for ABA clients Develop individualized goals and treatment plan for the clinic, home, and community settings to be implemented by a behavior therapist. Provide supervision to RBTs on team Direct ABA with clients when needed Coordinate and complete insurance authorization benefits for ABA services. Collaborate with in-house multi-disciplinary team on effective strategies for clients Provide Caregiver Training on principles of ABA and strategies Process directly with clients who need support and behavioral/social-emotional skills development; Practicing distress tolerance skills and coping strategies to encourage engagement and participation; Document data, as directed by the designated behavior analyst. Implement behavior reduction & management programs as directed and document same. This includes use of crisis management when needed. Provide student supervision, set behavioral limits, respond to crisis situations and attend to clients safety in accordance with established PCM de-escalation techniques. This includes initiating and performing humane restraints, as required and providing CPR and First Aid as well as other needed care. Report any new or extreme circumstances to the designated behavior analyst. Monitor the implementation of the behavior plan by others and provide feedback when warranted. Participate in various meetings with other clinical, administrative and support staff to share information, develop plans, collaborate effectively and process incidents. Assess internal and external health and safety issues and correct or report them. Operate a company vehicle/van to transport individuals as requested and complete vehicle/lift inspections prior to operation. Report all incidents of abuse/neglect in accordance with the Disabled Abuse Act, to the abuse registry. Follow all policies and procedures and other duties as required and requested by supervisors. Attend separate trainings and/or meetings with behavior analyst when warranted. Some travel required including a mix of clinic, school and home based services however we try to make travel to a minimum.
Minimum Education, Credentials, Experience and Special Requirements Required:
2 year of Behavioral experience. A minimum of 2 years of work experience working directly with individuals who have mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities.Requirements:
Active BCBA Certification, Bachelor or Masters Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis Successfully complete a background check and drug screen Valid FL Drivers License Must be CPR/First Aid certified Ability to provide proof of educational achievement & required certifications such as college transcripts and BCBA credentials.Job Type:
