Building AdministratorEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
Comply with district policies and procedures along with state regulations and laws Communicate effectively with colleagues and school teams Be reliable and timely for scheduled work, meetings, trainings, and supervision Maintain professionalism and professional relationships and boundaries Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information Implement behavior plans as developed by school teamsCollect data and maintain records and logs as assigned Participate in trainings and professional development as assigned Perform other duties as directed by supervisor Works independentlySupports personal care needs of children (dressing, washing, feeding, changing diapers, toileting schedule, etc.) as neededReviews and assists students with subject matter individually and/or in small groupsMonitors lunch periods, recess and hallways Maintains safety of students in classroom (including de-escalation and following Safety Cares protocols)Monitors students during periods of brief teacher absence Performs other related work as required, consistent with position summaryComplete Compuclaim/ Medicaid logsMinimum Qualifications Completion of a Teacher Assistant Pre-Employment Training Program approved by the RI Department of Education (RIDE). Three (3) exceptions to this particular qualificationoThose hired before January 1, 1999oThose with certification as a TA in another state,oThose with an associates degree or bachelors degree AND who have completed coursework or other training consistent with the teacher assistant program standards. It is a district's decision whether coursework or other training is consistent with the teacher assistant program standardsMeet one (1) of the following requirements: oSuccessfully pass the ParaPro Assessment. ORoComplete at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education ORoObtain an associates or higher degree.

Be at least 19 years of age; Completion of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training coursePassed the exam and maintain a certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) within one year of employmentComplete and hold Safety Cares certificationSome knowledge of modern educational practices and proceduresAbility to deal with students in a de-escalating and non-confrontational mannerAbility to maintain order and decorum in assigned areasAbility to understand and follow oral and written instructionsAbility to learn assigned duties and adhere to prescribed proceduresAbility to maintain accurate recordsMust meet mandated state and federal requirements2 years relevant experience working with childrenSuccessfully passed a BCI checkPhysical Requirements include (but are not limited to): The physical demands described here are representative of those the employee needs to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, lift, and run to promote instruction and safety of children. At times, these physical demands can be frequent in nature and could include lifting, bending, stopping, kneeling, squatting, and/or climbing or descending stairs. Other physical demands include writing, phone, and computer skills. In some cases, self-care routines are required with the student.
