Job Description

Behavior Therapists (BTs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) play an essential role in delivering high-quality care and helping clients reach their fullest potential. Job Description The BT/RBT will provide one-on-one behavioral interventions to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities. This position requires providing services in the clinic setting. BTs/RBTs will be responsible for implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based programs designed by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), documenting progress, and participating in collaborative team meetings. This position requires a patient, caring, and adaptable individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of our clients and their families. Responsibilities Implement individualized treatment plans based on applied behavior analysis principles under the guidance of BCBAs or BCaBAs. Assist clients in developing essential life skills and promoting independence. Collect data on client progress and behavior for ongoing assessment. Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with supervisors and other team members to adjust treatment strategies as needed. Support clients during therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance behavioral therapy skills. Adhere to the ethical guidelines of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Attend mandatory training and continuing education opportunities. Communicate regularly with the clinical team regarding client progress and any concerns.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in psychology, education, social work, child development, or a related field preferred. BT certification or RBT certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) preferred or required, based on role expectations. Experience working with children in educational, behavioral, or therapeutic settings preferred. Previous experience supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Excellent communication, professionalism, and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow individualized treatment plans and work effectively under clinical supervision. Reliable transportation and availability to travel to client homes or other service locations. Successful completion of a background check is required. Skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism. Knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices. Proficiency in assisting clients with daily living activities. Familiarity with applied behavior analysis techniques. Understanding of ABA terminology relevant to behavioral health settings. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines. Experience in behavioral therapy methods and interventions. Competence in medical documentation practices. Skills in research data collection for program evaluation and improvement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to adapt to different environments and work with individuals of varying age groups. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining accurate client records and data collection.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks, including sitting, standing, walking, and maneuvering for extended periods. Requires lifting, carrying, and assisting clients with physical activities.
Work Environment:
The RBT/BT will work in the client's home and clinic setting.
