Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) - Elementary & Middle School Educational Support Ave Maria Arts and Innovation Circle San Antonio, TX Job Details Part-time | Contract From $18 an hour 12 hours ago Qualifications RBT Certification School experience Behavior management for students with special needs Working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders High school diploma or GED Classroom behavior modification Working with children Direct support Classroom experience Full Job Description Ave Maria Arts & Innovation Circle is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support elementary and middle school students in a faith-centered educational enrichment environment. This role works closely with a Special Education Teacher and receives ongoing oversight and supervision from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children with diverse learning needs in a structured, supportive, and play-based educational setting. Position Overview The RBT will assist students with academic engagement, behavior support, social skills, executive functioning, and school-readiness skills within small-group classroom environments. The RBT will help students access educational activities while supporting positive behaviors and classroom participation. This role is educational support-based and designed to align with TEFA vendor expectations for supplemental educational services. Responsibilities Support elementary and middle school students during instructional activities, transitions, and enrichment classes Implement behavior support strategies and learning plans under BCBA supervision Assist students with: task initiation attention and focus emotional regulation communication support social interaction classroom participation executive functioning skills Collaborate with the Special Education Teacher to provide accommodations and student support Help maintain structured routines, visual schedules, and positive reinforcement systems Collect basic behavioral and educational data as directed by supervising staff Support students in small-group and individualized settings Assist with classroom organization, sensory supports, and educational materials Maintain professional communication with staff and families Follow all TEFA compliance requirements, confidentiality standards, and safety procedures
Qualifications Required:
Active RBT certification in good standing High school diploma or equivalent Experience working with children with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, dyslexia, behavioral challenges, or other learning differences Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families Strong patience, consistency, and positive behavior support skills Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting requirements in accordance with TEFA standardsPreferred:
Experience in educational or homeschool enrichment settings Knowledge of visual schedules, sensory supports, and executive functioning strategies Experience supporting elementary and middle school students Familiarity with play-based learning and school-readiness support Supervision & Oversight Direct collaboration with a licensed/specialized Special Education Teacher Clinical oversight and guidance provided by a BCBA Ongoing training and support opportunities available Work Environment Ave Maria Arts & Innovation Circle provides a welcoming, family-centered environment that integrates academics, creativity, movement, and hands-on learning.
