Job Description

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) supports students, teachers, and school teams by providing expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) within an educational environment. The BCBA conducts behavioral assessments, develops and oversees behavior intervention plans, provides staff training, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to promote positive student outcomes, safe learning environments, and effective behavioral supports aligned with school and district policies. Key Responsibilities Assessment & Planning Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and other data driven evaluations in accordance with school procedures. Collaborate with IEP teams to develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and behavior related goals. Support Individualized Education Programs (IEP) by providing expert behavioral recommendations. Program Development & Implementation Design and monitor evidence based behavior support programs tailored to individual student needs. Ensure interventions align with school and district guidelines, IDEA requirements, and best practices in ABA. Adjust plans based on progress monitoring and data analysis. Staff & Team Collaboration Provide consultation, modeling, and coaching to teachers, paraprofessionals, counselors, and related staff. Train school personnel in ABA principles, crisis prevention, data collection, reinforcement systems, and deescalation strategies. Participate in MTSS, RTI, or Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiatives as needed. Data & Documentation Collect and analyze behavioral data to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions. Maintain accurate, timely reports and documentation consistent with district standards. Prepare progress summaries for family meetings, IEP sessions, and administrative reviews. Family & Caregiver Engagement Collaborate with parents/guardians to promote consistency between school and home environments. Provide guidance and training to families when requested and approved by the district. Ethics & Compliance Ensure all services align with the BACB Ethics Code, FERPA, and relevant school policies. Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to confidentiality expectations. Attend professional development, district trainings, and required meetings.
