In this vital role, you will ensure the proper maintenance, repair, and calibration of medical equipment used to support patients' comfort and safety. Your expertise will directly enhance patient care by providing reliable, high-quality equipment tailored to individual needs. This position offers an energetic environment where your mechanical knowledge and field service skills make a meaningful difference every day. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of DME including wheelchairs, hospital beds, oxygen systems, and other assistive devices. Perform routine maintenance and calibration of medical equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) instructions to accurately diagnose issues. Utilize hand tools and computer hardware to perform repairs, adjustments, and updates on equipment. Maintain detailed records of service activities using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software for tracking maintenance history and scheduling future service needs. Conduct field service visits to patient homes or healthcare facilities, ensuring equipment functions safely and efficiently in diverse environments. Collaborate with healthcare providers to assess patient needs and recommend appropriate equipment solutions. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair, calibration, and maintenance. Familiarity with OEM specifications, schematics, and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems. Proficiency in using hand tools, computer hardware, and CMMS software to document work performed accurately. Knowledge of DME products used in hospice and long-term care settings to ensure proper installation and servicing. Ability to interpret technical schematics and diagrams for effective troubleshooting. Excellent field service skills with the ability to adapt quickly to different environments and patient needs. Strong communication skills to coordinate with healthcare teams and educate patients on equipment use.
