COMPANY OVERVIEW
Health Partners Management Group, Inc (HPMG) is a government contracting company in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. HPMG currently has a contract with the Federal Government. You would be a W-2 employee for HPMG and NOT a government employee.
SUMMARY :
Installs, inspects, repairs, calibrates, and modifies biomedical equipment and support systems. Advises staff and other agencies on operation theory, underlying physiological principles, and safe clinical application of biomedical equipment. Provides technology management and equipment repair/calibration support for the medical treatment facility. The position assesses and evaluates the condition of in-use medical equipment for maintenance, upgrade, or replace recommendations.
MANDATORY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Communicate effectively orally and in writing, maintain professional working relationships, and represent the organization in a professional manner. Apply advanced knowledge of electronics, biomedical equipment, complex medical systems, hardware/software components, system design, operating parameters, and electronic logic to troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, modify, and improve equipment. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, specifications, and regulatory requirements; use complex test and measuring equipment; maintain records; and ensure biomedical equipment complies with OEM standards and applicable DoD, The Joint Commission, AAAHC, CAP, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, FDA, and other requirements.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
An associate degree in biomedical equipment technology or engineering required.
EXPERIENCE
At least two years of biomedical equipment technician experience is required.
UNIQUE MILITARY HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS/PROCEDURES
A valid driver's license is required for the position in order to obtain authorization to drive a Government motor vehicle to service medical equipment that may be located in other buildings.
PERFORMANCE OUTCOMES
Test, inspect, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair biomedical and related medical equipment using manufacturers' manuals, specifications, tools, measuring devices, and test instruments. Disassemble malfunctioning equipment, identify defective parts, and remove, repair, or replace components such as motors, transformers, and circuit boards. Perform preventive maintenance and servicing, including cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and updating equipment in accordance with OEM specifications. Evaluate equipment serviceability, condition, disposition, safety, and compliance with regulations and policies while maintaining accurate maintenance, repair, and update records. Maintain current technical knowledge through manuals and manufacturer training, and train medical staff on proper operation and operator preventive maintenance of medical equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work will be accomplished in various departments of the medical treatment facility or logical extension of the facility (i.e., satellite clinic, health and wellness centers). Work areas may include isolated wards and in contaminated areas where personal protected equipment is required. Occasionally work on live electrical wires, switches and transformers of various voltage levels, exposing the worker to the possibility of shock, cuts, bruises, scrapes and serious burns. Exposure to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation is possible, the contractor shall use appropriate safety procedures and devices as required by the Government.
ADDITIONAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The nature of the work requires moderate physical effort. The biomedical equipment technician frequently is required to lift, carry or otherwise, handle, items weighing up to 18 kilograms (40 pounds) with occasional encounters involving items greater than 18 kilograms. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, stooping and working in cramped and awkward positions for prolonged periods is required. In addition to health requirements in the contract, the individual must pass color vision test. Per the main contract, health requirement expenses will not be covered by the Government.
