The Role:
The Medical Equipment Repair Technician travels to veterans' homes and healthcare facilities to service, repair, and maintain critical Durable Medical Equipment (DME)—with a primary focus on hospital beds, manual wheelchairs, and power mobility devices. You will be the face of our company to the veterans we serve, ensuring their equipment is safe, reliable, and functioning at its best. What We're Looking For High School Diploma or equivalent 1-2 years of experience in repair preferred. Direct experience servicing DME (hospital beds, power wheelchairs, mobility scooters) is highly preferred. Valid driver's license with clean driving record Exceptional empathy, patience, and communication skills. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand and power tools. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and comfortably navigate patient homes and facilities. What You'll Be Doing Travel safely throughout your assigned territory to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair hospital beds, standard wheelchairs, and complex rehab power chairs on-site. Perform routine inspections and tune-ups on DME to ensure longevity and safety for the patient. Provide compassionate, respectful, and professional service to veterans and their caregivers, including educating them on proper equipment use. Maintain an organized vehicle, tracking tools, and managing parts inventory to ensure a high first-time fix rate. Accurately complete service tickets, repair logs, and compliance documentation required by the VA hospital contract. Perform routine inspections and tune-ups on DME to ensure longevity and safety for the patient.
