In this role, you'll deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment while educating patients and caregivers - ensuring comfort, safety and independence.Requirements:
Core Responsibilities Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and related payer and regulatory guidelines Perform clinical assessments and reassessments, including review of ventilator patient records, compliance data, and care plans; communicate findings and recommendations to physicians and referral sources Participate in discharge planning and execution for highly technical and ventilator dependent patients, ensuring smooth transitions to the home setting Demonstrate and instruct patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on ventilator units, supplies, and proper equipment use Provide clinical follow up with physicians and referral sources regarding patient status and tolerance of therapy Conduct clinical in services for hospital staff, referral sources, and other professionals on equipment and clinically related topics Adhere to all patient confidentiality, HIPAA, PPE, infection control, and hazardous materials handling requirements Accurately and timely document all patient care activities, assessments, procedures, communications, and outcomes in accordance with company standards Maintain complete and up to date patient records, including prescriptions, plans of care, treatment plans, delivery tickets, and required checklists Ensure documentation supports quality tracking, data trending, reimbursement, authorizations (including ventilator referrals), and regulatory compliance Utilize continuing education, in services, and professional inquiry to maintain and expand role related competencies Promote AdaptHealth through program development, operational support, educational coordination, and engagement with referral sources Act as a clinical resource, collaborating proactively with peers and interdisciplinary teams to resolve issues and optimize patient outcomes Ensure accurate, clear, and timely verbal and written communication related to patient care and operational needs Participate in on call rotation during non-business hours in accordance with company policy Complete all required compliance training and adhere to AdaptHealth's Compliance Program Perform other related duties as assigned Why You're the Best Fit Demonstrated experience providing respiratory care to ventilator patients, including ventilator management, airway clearance, and oxygen therapy Strong clinical assessment, decision making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and adapt care as needed Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and remain flexible in a fast paced, changing healthcare environment Technical aptitude with Microsoft Office and clinical systems, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and understand regulatory requirements at the local, state, and federal levels Role Requirements Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch CPR certification Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program One (1) year of clinical experience as a Nurse with ventilator exposure, Healthcare Respiratory Therapist or HME Respiratory Therapist Valid and unrestricted driver's licenseWork Environment Type:
