Job Description

Receive 17% Weekday Nights, 26% Weekend Nights and 15% Weekend Day shift differentials Minimum Offer $ 24.29/hr. Maximum Offer $ 36.43/hr. Full Time Shift:
Rotating Position Summary:
Provides clinical equipment services under the supervision of Clinical Engineering management. Validates and inspects clinical equipment for completeness, mechanical and electrical safety and proper operation. Performs planned maintenance inspections, calibrations and repairs of general biomedical equipment. Assists other technicians in troubleshooting and major repair of complex equipment. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
DEVELOPMENT
•Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops •
TECHNICAL SERVICE
•Perform performance assurance (PA) inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections (ESI), and operation verification procedures (OVP) on general biomedical equipment •
TECHNICAL SERVICE
•Repair, install and calibrate general biomedical equipment; inform supervisors of the status of repairs, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations and any other customer concerns •
TECHNICAL SERVICE
•Work with, direct and document the activities of subcontractors, vendors and outside service technicians to ensure proper service delivery •
PROJECTS
•Assist with service operations special projects as assigned •
REGULATORY
•Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database to include inventory, PA schedules, nomenclature, and service history; adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), including all regulatory agency compliance and other applicable policies and procedures •
DOCUMENTATION
•Responsible for ensuring all service and documentation is complete, timely and accurate •
CUSTOMER SERVICE
•Adheres to the Mission, Vision and Values of UNMH; builds and maintains customer relationships, discusses equipment status and functionality with appropriate staff members •
INVENTORY
•Perform periodic inspections of current inventory status; verifies the completion of security analysis for new customer equipment; performs Incoming Inspections (II) to maintain a complete and accurate inventory of medical devices, including trial and evaluation, rental and loaner equipment, in addition to permanently assigned equipment inventory; make recommendations regarding inventory

Related degree or certificate or verifiable military training in a maintenance MOS/NEC or 3 years related electronic and/or mechanical experienceKnowledge and ability to operate personal computers to open and close work orders and complete technical documentation and reporting

Certified BioMedical Equipment Technician Physical Conditions:
Lift, carry, push and/or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and items between 50 and 100 pounds or more with assistancePerform work in unusual positions using full body mobility with frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, twisting, and turning Working conditions:
