Biomedical Equipment Technician/BMET Specialist (URGENT) Allied Technologies and Consulting, LLC - 4.5 Dayton, OH Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Field engineering on-site equipment repair DoD experience Field research Research safety & compliance Mechanical skills for biomedical equipment Cybersecurity Full Job Description The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) Specialist will support NAMRU-D biomedical and research equipment maintenance, inspections, DMLSS records, equipment acceptance, service documentation, and biomedical safety infrastructure. The position is based onsite at Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton (NAMRU-D), Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
Responsibilities include the following:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Perform routine scheduled maintenance and non-routine or unscheduled maintenance while de-conflicting maintenance with principal investigators and research assistants to avoid interruption to science. Determine which equipment requires outside vendor or agency maintenance and arrange maintenance support through appropriate vendors or support agencies. Coordinate purchase of maintenance supplies or services through equipment custodians and vendors while following proper purchasing and contracting processes. Ensure equipment is properly categorized in DMLSS to support accurate maintenance requirements, life expectancy, and life-cycle cost data. Track inspections, facilitate repairs, monitor warranties and maintenance agreements, and support DMLSS Service Contract module data entry. Support development and maintenance of a biosafety infrastructure for biomedical equipment and biological agents. Review purchasing packages for new or replacement equipment to provide technical feedback, while avoiding inherently governmental functions. Assist with service-document review, equipment tagging, equipment acceptance, safety checks, manuals verification, contract requirement verification, operator familiarization, scheduled maintenance, and required reporting to the immediate superior in command.
REQUIRED QUALIFICIATIONS
Experience interfacing with the military medical research enterprise. One of the following certifications is required: Military BMET Training Certificate of Completion, Medical Equipment Manufacturer's Training Course Certificate of Completion, or Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician certificate. Prior experience in a military research facility performing biomedical equipment repair services. Familiarity with equipment used for biomedical research. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be able to pass a Secret eligibility (T3/SF86) background investigation if required. May be required to travel occasionally for collaboration, field research, and presentation of findings. Must qualify for CAC issuance and IT access and comply with DoD, DoN, NAMRU-D, cybersecurity, and OPSEC requirements.
