One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Cardiology Technician, you will perform all electrocardiograms and related tests according to specifically defined procedures for use in the diagnosis of heart disorders.

Every day you will execute a range of cardiology tests under the general direction of the manager, and carry out related duties as assigned by the Director/Manager of the Cardiology Department, contributing directly to patient diagnosis.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, strong technical proficiency in performing EKGs and associated tests, and a proactive approach to supporting the diagnostic efforts of the department, all while adhering to established protocols and contributing to efficient operations. Performs EKG and is responsible for EKG Muse entry and medical record retrieval to assure all EKG's are in the Muse system in a timely manner. Recognizes abnormal EKG readings notifying appropriate person (RN, MD) if abnormal EKG is potentially life threatening. Checks emergency resuscitation/crash cart equipment daily and assures equipment is available during procedures. Stocks supplies for all testing procedures Scans Holter recordings to detect arrhythmias and processes report for physician review Performs EEGs per protocol for both inpatients and outpatients; adult and pediatric. Job Requirements Required Basic Life Support - CPR Preferred Other graduate of a program forcardiovascular technology and One year experience performing EKG's and treadmill exercise testing in an acute care hospital Other certification from the National Board forCardiovascular Technology EEG experience
