Device Cardiac Tech (MA) - Specialty Clinics South Denver Heart Center Littleton, CO Job Details Full-time $23 - $25 an hour 6 hours ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Customer communication In-person customer service Full Job Description This Device Cardiac Tech will work primarily in Device Clinic-Specialty Clinics. They will report to the Device Clinic Lead and the Specialty Clinic Nursing Supervisor. The Device Cardiac Tech is responsible for the ongoing monitoring of implantable cardiac devices including pacemakers, ICDs, and loop recorders. The Device Cardiac Tech collaborates with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure optimal device performance and patient care. Prior to performing any activity under this supervision, the MA/CNA/Technician will be fully trained and competent.
Responsibilities:
Respects patient confidentiality and privacy by maintaining the security of all patient communications, per current HIPAA regulations. Responsible for rooming patients, taking vital signs, stocking and cleaning exam rooms and specialty clinic area as needed. Accurately reconciling patient medications, gathering pertinent patient information
Ie:
labs etc. as necessary. Retrieve voicemail and triage as appropriate daily. Ensures correct prescription by communication with the provider and the pharmacies regarding new prescriptions, medication changes or refills as requested. Assist in oversight of medications, ensuring safe and appropriate follow-up for patients. Provide Patient education/community resource materials as needed or instructed and maintain up to date file for patient materials. Obtain Prior authorizations for medications. Maintain specialty clinic OSHA logs and ensure daily recording. Maintains accurate record keeping and ensures current and proper documentation of pacemakers, ICDs, loops and patient care activities using EHR. Will educate patients on their medical conditions, devices, symptoms that may indicate a worsening problem, and the possible effects or adverse reactions that may occur with medications. Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanation of clinic process and procedures, and answering questions. Administer ancillary testing such as ECG, Spirometry as needed, 6-minute walk testing, recording of patient survey results and in office testing results into EMR. Maintains current BLS in accordance with SDCA protocol Acts as a resource for other medical assistants and non-clinical staff. Complies with federal, state, local and professional requirements. Maintains a safe, clean working environment. Responsible for all clinical supply inventory and supply replenishment, sharps management and general keeping for the entirety of the specialty clinic area. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infectious control policies and protocols. Performs various administrative duties, record keeping, statistical gathering and data recording as instructed. Cross train to other specialty clinic medical assistant or technician positions.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Collaborates with RNs/LPNs, Specialty Clinic Supervisor and Lead MA Supervisor Report directly to Device Clinic Lead for Specialty Clinic and the Specialty Clinic Supervisor for attendance or scheduling issues.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent AAS degree/certificate in medical assisting or cardiac tech strongly preferred Current BLS 2+ years direct patient care and ECG proficiency Background check required (includes credit, justice, worker's comp) Immunizations up to date
Physical Effort :
Assist with adult patients in emergencies as needed Lifting requirements not to exceed 50
