hr days MedStar Health is looking for an Echocardiograph Technologist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital! The cardiac sonographer, with specialized education and experience in the medical and technical aspects of diagnostic cardiac sonography, is qualified to perform Echocardiography examinations under routine supervision. Coordinates and directs all activities associated with the Echo Lab in the Technical Director's absence. Performs 2D, Doppler, M-mode, color flow mapping, exercise and Dobutamine echos to produce accurate and appropriate anatomic and physiologic information for physician review. Prepares preliminary interpretation and/or interpretative review of the examination to provide input in the evaluation of the data and to contribute relevant technical information. Obtains pertinent clinical information from the patient, referring physician or patient's record to obtain comprehensive and diagnostic information. Explains non-invasive diagnostic procedures to the patient. Prepares appropriate billing for each patient (CPT/ICD-9). Receives telephone calls, patients, and visitors skillfully and handles with efficiently. Maintains standards for patient safety and infection control for the Echo Lab. Provides training in the proper function of ultrasound systems, performance of transthoracic echocardiograms, procedures, and processes of the Echo Lab. Assures upkeep of equipment and initiates requests for supplies and equipment repairs. Reviews final reports for accuracy and completeness before filing. Attends Non-Invasive Cardiology Conference and assigned reading sessions. Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations standards in all activities.Qualifications:
High School Diploma orGED. ARDCS
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or Registry eligible within 1 Year. BLS (Basic Life Support). Bachelor's degree in science preferred. Minimum 2 years' experience as a cardiac sonographer preferred. This position has a hiring range of USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 /Hr.Qualifications:
