Job Description:
Ensures proper equipment functionality and coordinates preventative maintenance. Participates in scheduling, timekeeping, and supply inventory management to support operational efficiency and budget goals. Coordinates daily workflow and staffing assignments, balancing patient volumes, sonographer availability, and room utilization. Provides day-to-day supervision of sonographers, support staff, and imaging operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Serves as a clinical resource to sonographers, students, and other staff, offering guidance on protocols, positioning, image quality, and regulatory compliance. Participates in quality improvement initiatives, including image quality audits, repeat analysis, and process improvement projects. Assists with onboarding, orientation, training, and ongoing competency assessment of sonographers and new hires. Responsible for compliance with departmental policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory/accreditation standards. Supports leadership in performance management through the talent care process, performance reviews, and providing coaching opportunities for team member development. Oversees sterilization of transducers in compliance with hygiene and safety standards. Collaborates with radiologists, leadership, and other departments to facilitate timely and coordinated imaging services. Other duties as assigned.
