Qualifications & Experience:

Certification as a Surgical Technologist or equivalent professional training Demonstrated experience in a cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) or similar surgical setting Comprehensive knowledge of sterile field practices and surgical instrumentation Ability to anticipate surgical team needs, particularly for cardiovascular and thoracic procedures Strong communication skills and attention to patient safety Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), preferred Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently under pressure

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain the sterile field for all CVOR procedures Assist surgeons and staff during operations, ensuring all surgical instruments are properly handled and available Monitor and account for surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies throughout procedures Support pre-operative and post-operative room turnover and setup Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and hospital policies at all times Communicate clearly with surgical team members to facilitate seamless operations Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and responsive patient care
