1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience in invasive cardiac, vascular, and electrophysiologic procedures for a cardiovascular invasive unit. Details Cardiovascular invasive unit in an acute care hospital setting Procedures include invasive coronary/vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures, EP diagnostic and interventional procedures, and device implantation Technical hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation using automated techniques Operation of both monophasic and biphasic defibrillators Epic EMR — experience required 4x10 hour day shifts, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM Weekend shifts on a rotation basis Holiday coverage on a rotation basis May float to sister hospital locations within the health system Requirements Minimum of 3 years of applicable cardiovascular invasive experience Associate's Degree in a related field OR Certificate of Completion for a Radiology Program Current BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) ARRT Registration in Radiology IEMA (Illinois state) License in Rad Technology — license required if applicable Epic charting experience required Proficiency in EKG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition Knowledge of hemodynamic concepts, cardiac anatomy and physiology, and EP theory including fluoroscopic anatomy Knowledge and competency in moderate sedation administration and protocol Ability to recognize and assist in the treatment of complications arising from cardiac/vascular/EP procedures Knowledge of radiation safety and appropriate use of imaging equipment Knowledge of data analysis and interpretation specific to device implantation and function Proficient in sterile table setup, patient preparation, and draping Additional Information Assist cardiologists in performing invasive coronary/vascular/EP diagnostic and therapeutic procedures Responsible for setup, operation, troubleshooting, and daily safety checks of electrical, imaging, and physiologic monitoring equipment Manages digital archiving system for safe storage of patient images and reports, including querying from deep archive and creating CDs for information transfer Prepares sterile field, assists with passing sterile guidewires, catheters, and other devices using aseptic technique, and prepares instruments for sterilization Collaborates with research RN/Coordinator in carrying out laboratory-based research Trains and mentors team members and interacts professionally with vendors to ensure patient safety Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible RTO is not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract Contingent workers may not be on continuous assignment for more than 1 year at this health system; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the system
