Job Overview:

The supplemental Pediatric Echocardiogram Sonographer is responsible for providing diagnostic cardiac imaging and detailed patient history and findings to the cardiologist, written and/or verbal; knowledgeable of pediatric echo protocols and charging protocols for The Women's Hospital, Deaconess Riley Clinic and Riley Hospital; knowledgeable of process for reporting critical value readings and tracking as well as transmitting images to on-call physicians. Job duties include but are not limited to: Ensures exams are performed within proper timeframe with unexpected findings reported to the Cardiologist. Understands processes for reporting critical value readings and tracking. Provides detailed patient history and findings to the Cardiologist, either verbally or by documentation. On call is required as needed for the department. This position will be scheduled on an as-needed basis.

Required:

Certifications/Licenses/Education:

Must be a graduate of an accredited ultrasound program OR have Echo specific experience. Additional job training with the Pediatric Cardiologist until approved to work independently. RCS is required within 12 months of hire (or completion of cross training). BLS is required within 6 months of hire.
