Job Description The Cardiovascular Tech in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory performs tasks that provide technical support during invasive procedures while also providing basic patient care to all types of patients under the direction and supervision of the Physician. The cardio technicians who work in our facilities and run tests on heart health. They assist with the insertion of catheters into the heart, and are responsible for measuring and administering special fluids. The Cardiac Cath Department at Lawrence Memorial Hospital Health takes pride in the excellent team we have and the care we provide. You will be working with cutting edge technology multiple areas including coronary Intervention, vascular surgery intervention, and Interventional radiology and Electrophysiology procedures. Every role has an impact on our patients' lives and you have the opportunity to make a difference. We are looking for a dedicated Cardiovascular Tech like you to be a part of our team. Responsibilities Under the general supervision of the Cath Lab Supervisor and the CV Services Director, the Cardiovascular Tech in cooperation with the physicians and nursing personnel, assists with diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiology patient procedures in the catheterization labs. Performs technical support during catheterization procedure. Accurately connects patients to EKG monitors. Establishes arterial/venous line set-up prior to procedure.

  • Temporary Pacemaker to name a few Performs catheter and sheath removal after invasive procedures.
Assesses site after homeostasis is obtained. Gives patient instructions regarding post-procedural activity. The Cardiovascular Tech is required to participate in the on-call rotation and is required to respond within 35 minutes to the Cath Lab when on call. The Cardiovascular Tech after one year of work in the Cath Lab and 600 procedures will sit for the next available RCIS certification exam. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications Required:
A graduate of a certificate or degree granting program or post-secondary educational program in a health science (includes, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, nursing or paramedic/EMT) program must meet eligibility requirement to qualify for RCIS or RCES Certification Must obtain
RCIS/RCES
within 18 months of employment
BLS/ACLS
Certification Preferred:
