The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of interventional radiology procedures, cardiac catheterization, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to advanced patient care within a high-acuity environment, supporting complex procedures such as interventional cardiology and electrophysiology. The Cath Lab Tech will be responsible for operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining sterile conditions during procedures in a fast-paced setting. Duties Prepare and operate imaging equipment for diagnostic and interventional procedures within the catheterization laboratory. Assist physicians during complex interventions including cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placements, and electrophysiology studies. Monitor vital signs and physiological data throughout procedures, ensuring patient stability and safety. Maintain strict aseptic technique to prevent infection and uphold sterile field standards during all interventions. Conduct diagnostic evaluations using sonography and other imaging modalities to support procedural accuracy. Ensure accurate documentation of procedures, patient information, and imaging results in compliance with hospital policies. Support emergency responses within the cath lab, especially in Level I Trauma Center environments or during Level II trauma cases requiring immediate intervention. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes while adhering to safety protocols and medical terminology standards. Experience Prior experience working in a cath lab or interventional radiology setting is essential, with familiarity in interventional cardiology procedures highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy relevant to cardiovascular interventions and physiology principles related to cardiac function. Experience with telemetry monitoring and emergency medicine protocols is advantageous for rapid response situations. Proven ability to operate sonography equipment for diagnostic purposes within a high-pressure environment. Background working in Level I Trauma Centers or similar high-acuity facilities enhances readiness for complex cases requiring immediate intervention. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, infection control practices, and safety standards necessary for invasive procedures. Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) (LRT) (ARRT) or Cardiovascular Technologist (RCIS) is required; additional certifications in advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) are preferred.
