Associates Degree in Cardiac Sonography. Five years of Cardiac Sonographer experience may be considered in lieu of the degree At least six months of directly related experience in an acute care setting which would include clinicals as part of their degreePreferred:

As part of the Cardiology team, the Cardiac Sonographer position: Performs inpatient and outpatient cardiac ultrasound exams according to physician orders either in the Cardiology department or remotely with equipment on patient units. Reviews inpatient chart prior to exam to gather pertinent symptoms and history of the patient. Interviews the outpatient for symptoms and cardiac history. Prepares patient for procedure by assisting/placing patient in proper imaging position and explaining exam. Acquires cardiac ultrasound images. Integrates images into automated system and compiles a preliminary report for Cardiologist. Processes patient billing and inputs data into patient billing system. Cleans all testing equipment after each exam.DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS

$46.00 - $61.91 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
