Job Description
Job Requirements Performs non-invasive diagnostic electrocardiographics (ECGs), stress testing procedures, applies event monitors on inpatients and outpatients. Assists with scheduling appointments, filing, record keeping, billing and distribution of reports.
JOB DUTIES
1. Performs routine and STAT electrocardiographic procedures; may perform STAT ECGs during Code Blue. 2. Performs routine Electroencephalogram (EEG)procedures; 3. Prepares patients and machines for procedures; explains procedures to patients. 4. Performs stress testing procedures under physician supervision, monitoring vital signs. 5. Contacts physicians/offices with preliminary results/critical test results, as required. 6. Applies event monitors. 7. Schedules appointments, assists with filing, record keeping, billing and distribution of reports and mail. 8. Serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors who enter SMG facilities and is responsible for all aspects of customer service. 9. Maintains regulatory and functional knowledge of registration information required, which ensures timely and accurate reporting/billing; Obtains all required signatures, and performs clerical duties as necessary. Collects and verifies patient and insurance demographics, verifies insurance benefits and coverage by reviewing benefits collection in Epic 10. Maintains department scheduling templates for applicable procedures in outpatient department locations. Ensuring appropriate scheduling utilization while also scheduling patients for appropriate procedures. 11. Checks accuracy of daily charge transactions; credits inappropriate charges. 12. Keeps equipment and work area clean and in good order. Reports equipment malfunctions to Manager. 13. Assists with the safe transport, storage, and security of medications to include IV solutions. 14. Types/transcribes, proofreads, and edits cardiac interpretations. 15. Answers telephone; screens and directs calls; provides general information; takes and relays messages, including critical information. 16. Operates various office equipment including fax and copier. 17. Greets and directs visitors, answers general inquiries. 18. Receives, sorts, and distributes mail within the department. 19. Inventories supplies to assure adequate stock. Work ExperienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide for the primary population of patients served in the department.MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated typing ability and computer skills. Certificate of Basic Life Support. Basic Arrhythmia training (on the job) with successful completion of the dysrythmia exam, scoring an 85% or higher, within first year of employment, EKG interpretation Class or CCT certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International. Upon receiving EKG certification, the tech can submit for on-the-job EEG training becoming competent in that field i.e., Trained EEG Technician.Similar jobs in Easton, MD
