Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer - PRN
About the JobMedStar Health is looking for a PRN Echocardiograph Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer with demonstrated effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Primary Duties:
- Actively participates in quality assurance program by completing all accrediting body requirements to maintain lab certification. Ensures equipment and supplies are available by coordinating preventive maintenance programs, scheduling emergency service calls, and ordering necessary supplies to maintain an efficient patient schedule.
- Assists in coordinating patient care with clinical staff by reviewing the patient schedule at the beginning of each day to ensure appropriate support is available at the appointed times.
- Performs diagnostic ultrasound studies on patients including M-mode and two-dimensional and stress echocardiograms by following ICAEL guidelines to ensure high-quality diagnostic studies are performed. Prepares preliminary diagnostic reports by compiling relevant measurements and data to provide a summary report for physician review, interpretation, and signature.
- Provides patient instructions and answers questions relating to scheduled procedures to properly educate and orient patients.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED with completion of a ed Echocardiology program with coursework in Anatomy and Physiology, required
- Associateâ??s Degree, preferred
- 1-2 years of post graduate cardiology experience, preferred
- Prior clinical experience and the performance of at least 100 echocardiogram/ doppler examinations with Arrhythmia analysis experience, required
- RDCS (ed Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) Adult Echocardiography - ARDMS-AE or CCI
- CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
