F airview Health Services is hiring a casual pediatric echocardiographer II to join our team at our University of Minnesota Children's Masonic location in Minneapolis, MN. Under the direction of the Pediatric Heart Center Medical Director, the Pediatric Echocardiographer II independently performs pediatric cardiac ultrasound examinations, including 2D echocardiography and other diagnostic studies, for pediatric and adult patients with new and congenital heart disease, as requested by referring physicians. The role communicates pertinent and detailed findings to the interpreting physician and contributes to advanced practice activities such as education and mentorship, advanced echocardiographic techniques, and quality improvement initiatives.Schedule:
This position will be a casual position and fill a variety of shifts.Job Expectations:
Obtains pertinent clinical information from patients, medical charts, and/or physicians using accepted standard techniques. Communicates purpose and procedures related to the ultrasound test to the guardians and/or patient and comforts/reassures guardians and/or patient about the examination. Performs 2D echo, Doppler, and other echocardiographic examinations to provide anatomic and physiologic data for physician review with minimal supervision. Independently identifies and notifies physician of patient distress and/or severe abnormal readings. Provide assistance and training in the Echocardiography Laboratory. Maintains appropriate training documentation materials. Demonstrates advanced technical abilities to operate and troubleshoot the echocardiography equipment. Adhere to safety and infection control standards. Accurately document preliminary echocardiogram reports. Provide compassionate patient care. Level II Advanced training that includes additional experience and expertise in performing complex echocardiographic procedures. Strong technical skills in operating ultrasound equipment and producing high-quality diagnostic images. Achieves competency in identifying abnormalities in echocardiographic images and understanding pediatric heart conditions. Performs advanced Stress Echo in Non-Ischemic Heart Disease. Provide mentorship and competency development for junior sonographers and cardiology fellows. Participates in quality improvement initiatives by performing and organizing regular quality reviews of the echo lab. Participates in the development of effective Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) activities to improve quality of care. Qualifications Associate of Applied Science Degree in Non-Invasive Imaging or an associate degree in related clinical field, couple with seven (7) years of pediatric sonographer experience. 5 years of Pediatric Echocardiography experience Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - adult, pediatric BLS Certification within 3 months of hireQualifications:
