Position Description This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for the Cardiovascular Sonography curriculum. Responsibilities and Duties (•Essential Functions) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Provides didactic and/or clinical instruction as assigned by the program director Maintains accurate course documentation and scholastic records of students enrolled in classes and submits required reports to the Program Director and to the registrar Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner Selects learning experiences that facilitate the student attainment of course student learning outcomes Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment Grades and returns student work in a timely manner Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course Organizes and maintains laboratory including physical facilities, equipment, and materials in a clean, neat, operating condition, when applicable Maintains current certifications/license/credentials to practice in their profession Utilizes a variety of instructional evaluation methods considering learning styles and teaching/learning theory Supervises and evaluates student clinical/lab performance Maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures and student progress. Maintains confidentiality of student records and grades Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning Good organizational skills Innovative, creative, motivated and work well with others Able to maintain records accurately and able to meet deadlines consistently Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential Minimum Requirements Associate degree Unofficial transcripts must be attached with your online application prior to submission or submitted to Human Resources immediately upon completing the application. If your transcripts are not submitted, your application may not receive full consideration . Two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered cardiovascular sonographer in the professional sonography field Appropriate credential(s) specific to the concentrations offered Current BLS certification Preferences Bachelor's degree Five years of experience as a Cardiovascular Sonography technologist Experience with blackboard and/or online teaching tools As an equal employment opportunity employer, Wake Tech values our workforce.
