Cardiac Cath Lab Tech - Smithfield, North Carolina 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT), and 1+ year of Cath Lab experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A healthcare imaging professional is needed to assist physicians in acquiring high-quality digital radiographic images during cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures. This role involves operating specialized radiographic equipment in the catheterization lab, ensuring radiation safety, and supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases. The position is contract-based and located in Smithfield, NC, offering an engaging environment where technical proficiency and patient care intersect. Qualifications /
Desired Experience:
Expertise in cardiac catheterization lab imaging techniques, including hemodynamics and diagnostic/interventional procedures Skilled in the operation and troubleshooting of cath lab equipment such as IVUS, ICE, HeartLab, and Combo Map systems Knowledge of radiation safety principles and sterile technique protocols Ability to anticipate procedural needs and collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare teams Experience in patient care during pre-, intra-, and post-procedural phases Competency in data documentation and charge entry for patient records and quality assurance Capacity to maintain inventory and prepare procedure rooms according to regulatory standards Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in reporting laboratory data
Responsibilities:
Operate radiographic equipment to obtain clear images of cardiac and peripheral vessels Prepare and maintain procedure rooms and equipment daily for optimal workflow Monitor patient vital signs and collaborate with physicians regarding patient status changes Support sterile procedures, including preparation of scrub tables and administration of injectable fluids under supervision Perform routine quality control on equipment and coordinate maintenance as needed Document all relevant patient and procedural data accurately, ensuring compliance with clinical and quality standards Assist with training and mentoring other lab staff as a lead worker when assigned
