1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Travel Echo Technologist for a Cardiology Non-Invasive unit, performing diagnostic echocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients with at least 1 year of experience and
ARDMS/CCI
certification. Details Cardiology Non-Invasive unit at an acute care regional medical center in Santa Fe, NM Adult and pediatric patient population Performs 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM Weekend coverage required On-call responsibility for echo emergency exams outside of regular working hours per department policy 13-week contract Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience performing echocardiograms (2 years actively preferred)
ARDMS/CCI
registered, registry eligible, or comparable national accreditation required BLS certification issued through the American Heart Association required High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year allied health education program preferred State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License required if applicable Strong manual dexterity for performing echocardiograms Ability to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditions 2 professional references required for consideration US Social Security Number required for consideration Additional Information Performs 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams on adult and pediatric patients Coordinates with interrelated hospital departments including scheduling, patient transport, and billing entry Assists cardiologists during exam dictation by preparing and measuring M-modes and contributing relevant diagnostic information Monitors and responds to changes in patient condition during exams, reporting to the physician or nurse in charge Maintains quality control of echo equipment and coordinates repair services as needed Participates in Performance Improvement activities at departmental, interdepartmental, and hospital-wide levels Stays current on advances in echocardiography and seeks mentorship from cardiologists on new skills Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
