Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) White Plains, NY Job Details Per diem $79,788.34
- $119,682.
Following:
Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. Assists Invasive cardiologists with diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral catheterization procedures Performs patient preparation for cardiac/EP/peripheral procedures. Assist with patient care in the intra procedural and pre/post procedural setting Prepares procedure room for Cardiac, Electrophysiological, and Peripheral procedures Obtaining necessary equipment for procedure scheduled according to physician's preference Assists Cardiologist in analytical calculations and interpretive measurements for diagnostic values Utilizes standards and guidelines for cost-effective patient care Knowledgeable in electrocardiogram and hemodynamic pressure tracing interpretation Provide assistance and coverage to Cath Lab patients in the inpatient setting, including sheath removal and groin management, transport, and troubleshooting of IABP. Assist with electrophysiology procedures and device implants Preceptor for registered cardiovascular invasive specialist new hires and clinical internship students Proficient in reviewing and abstracting pertinent patient information before, during, and after procedures Records all procedural data in departmental log in an organized, accurate and complete manner. Demonstrate proficiency in Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE) Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR), IFR, RFR, OCT, and other additional catheter based imaging modalities Knowledgeable about different interventional balloons, stents, guide catheters, devices for Cardiac, Electrophysiology, and Peripheral procedures Responsible for management of inventory, ordering, maintaining par levels and submission of purchase requisitions Reports departmental supply needs to appropriate personnel. Properly stores supplies and equipment, and discards used supplies according to infection control guidelines Maintain a steady inventory of surgical instruments, and equipment Transportation of used surgical instruments, and equipment to Central Sterile Processing Department upon completion of procedure in compliance to OSHA guidelines. Performs and maintains quality control activities on designated equipment Inspects, and assures the departmental equipment is maintained in proper working order Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions, and operational problems promptly to manager Initiates requests for repairs and services with responsible person. Assist with billing processes and charge audits Assists, prepares, and revise policies, and procedures Demonstrates flexibility in covering the staffing needs of the department by working all shifts and weekends as needed. Performs all other related duties as required and/or requested based on the needs of the patient, department, and organization Performs all other related duties as assigned. Education & Experience Requirements High School Diploma required. Bachelor of Science Degree preferred Successful completion of scrub technician training program or hospital-based training program One-year scrub technician or cardiac technician experience preferred RCIS Certification required within 12 months of hire into positionBLS, ACLS

Rules and regulations, including but not limited to absenteeism, cellular telephone usage, dress code and all other performance standards & behaviors Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital's SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital's Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc. Exposure to radiation Wears lead apron for a prolonged period of time Lifting and moving heavy patients and objects Potential for needle sticks Must be physically able to frequently move/transport heavy objects more than 50 lbs. and lift patients of all weights with a minimum of one (1) assist or assistive device/equipment Must be able to work in environment with continuous interruptions Must be able to assess and respond to rapidly changing situational needs of patients, department, and hospital Must be able to adapt in a high stress and fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions Must be able to detect sounds and respond to emergency sounds/signals at all times Must be able to constantly operate computer, equipment, and other devices Must be physically able to meet all regulatory requirements 100% of the time. Must have the ability to concentrate on fine detail with interruption and attend to tasks for more than 60 minutes at a time. Individual must be able to understand theories behind several related concepts and remember multiple tasks given during the course of a day.
