a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } Invasive Cardiac Technician - Special Procedures Department, Full-time UPMC Hamot | Erie, PA UPMC Hamot is seeking a motivated and skilled Invasive Cardiac Technician to join our Special Procedures Department. This is an opportunity to work in a comprehensive stroke center that provides 24/7 coverage and delivers high-quality, time-sensitive care to our community. Our department is fast paced, team oriented, and focused on excellence in patient care. We are looking for a hard worker and true team player who is eager to learn and grow! Schedule and On-Call Requirements This position works Monday through Friday, with scheduled shifts of either 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This role includes required on-call coverage for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotating call schedule. Due to on-call responsibilities, candidates must be within a 30-minute radius of the hospital during on-call. No travel is required. Candidates will be hired into the appropriate level of the career ladder based on experience and education as well as leader discretion. Performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of $10,000 with a 2-year commitment.
Responsibilities:
Ensures all images within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through the PACS, and are properly networked to appropriate electronic record for archival and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the procedures performed. Maintains continuing education and competency requirements for position Demonstrates a strong ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, while displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity and respect. Able to work as team member within the department and all other departments to expedite patient care efficiently Identifies all patients properly by using two patient identifiers and utilizes universal protocol when performing procedures. Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data. Documents patient history in electronic record as required Maintains point of care testing standards, including daily quality control, for devices used for procedures Demonstrates the ability to communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner and explain procedures to help allay the patient?s fears and solicit their cooperation Demonstrate proper positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for all diagnostic and interventional procedures. Exhibits a clear understanding of correct patient preparation, equipment operations and patient monitoring systems Demonstrates competency in functioning in the first assist position Fosters an environment that supports aseptic technique during procedures and patient safety with the incorporation of a time-out process Administers contrast under the direction of the procedure physician Support other departments as directed or assignedMust demonstrate a basic knowledge of the operation of both equipment and suppliesSome responsibilities may not be applicable due to specific job locations Provides stand by call coverage, as scheduled, in accordance with system-wide stand by call procedure/policy Practices with attentiveness to radiation safety for the patient as well as others in the procedure room including appropriate use of lead shielding and monitoring devices.
