Job Description
Summary Performs 2-D, M-Mode, color, and spectral recordings of the heart documenting hemodynamic function by way of transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography. Incorporates 2-D imaging to compliment stress testing by either treadmill or pharmacology to demonstrate left ventricular response to controlled stress for use by physicians in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease. Minimum Qualifications Completion of one of the following: Graduate of an accredited Ultrasonographer program. Five years experience in cardiac ultrasound. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Registration or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). New graduates must be registered with ARDMS within two years of graduation; all other personnel must be registered with ARDMS within one year of hire. Valid Pennsylvania Driver's license. Preferred Qualifications Two years of experience in cardiac ultrasound. Six months of experience working with echo contrast. Six months of experience performing stress echocardiography and pharmacological stress echocardiography. Six months of experience performing electrocardiograms.
