Now Hiring:
Cardiac Technician (Full-Time) Schedule + Monday through Friday + Daylight hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM✅ No weekends or holidays Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused individual to support our cardiac diagnostic services. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Cardiac Technician or Medical Assistant and a strong interest in cardiovascular care. In this role, you will perform and support a variety of cardiac testing procedures, helping to ensure accurate results and high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities + Perform cardiac diagnostic testing, including: + EKGs and rhythm strips + Signal-averaged ECGs + Stress testing + Holter monitor hook-ups + Prepare testing data for physician interpretation in a timely and accurate manner + Edit EKG reports in the MUSE system following physician review (including updates, corrections, and standardized phrasing) + Utilize systems such as MUSE, TDS, and others for data entry, reporting, billing, and patient communication + Maintain equipment through daily cleaning, stocking, and troubleshooting + Monitor supply levels and report equipment or maintenance needs + Ensure the department meets all safety and regulatory standards (JCAHO, OSHA) What We're Looking For + Prior experience as a Cardiac Technician or Medical Assistant preferred + Strong attention to detail and accuracy + Excellent organizational and multitasking skills + Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team + Comfort working with clinical technology and computer systems Why Join Us? + Stable weekday schedule with no weekends or holidays + Opportunity to work closely with cardiovascular patients and providers + Supportive, team-oriented environment + Opportunity for growth within UPMC + High school diploma or equivalent required + Minimum of 6 months of experience in a medical or healthcare-related field preferred + Completion of a Medical Assistant or Cardiac Technician training program preferred + Basic computer proficiency and typing skills required; transcription experience preferred + Ability to work flexible hours to support departmental needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances + Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting (with renewal) + Act 33 Clearance (with renewal) + Act 34 Criminal Clearance (with renewal) + Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal) UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
