Rhode Island Hospital, part of Brown University Health, is seeking an experienced Cardiac Surgical Technologist to join our dedicated cardiac surgery team. This is an opportunity to work in a highly specialized, fast-paced operating room environment at a Level 1 trauma hospital and the only open-heart program in the state of Rhode Island. Responsibilities:
As a member of the cardiac surgery team, you will support complex cardiothoracic procedures alongside a well-respected group of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, perfusionists, and perioperative specialists. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-acuity setting, values teamwork, and wants to be part of a service line where precision, preparation, and collaboration directly impact patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of various surgical procedures in order to assist and anticipate physician needs. High School Diploma or GED is required Completion of at least one of the following options is required: Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program, or Graduate of a surgical technologist associate degree program, or Current certification as a CST, or Current NCCT-TC (tech in surgery) certification (for applicants with past military experience only; military experience as a surgical technologist will be strongly considered), or 3 years of experience within the past 5 years as a surgical technologist Successful completion of a Brown University Health on-the-job surgical technologist training program Successful completion of the Community College of Rhode Island's certificate surgical technologist program Current BLS Certification is required upon hire Why work for Rhode Island Hospital?
