This hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and a Primary Stroke Center, offering a broad range of services including cardiology, emergency care, oncology, orthopedics, rehabilitation, and women's health services. This role provides the opportunity to work in a high-acuity interventional setting alongside experienced physicians and clinical teams. The Special Procedures Technologist supports diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiographic procedures by scrubbing in and assisting physicians while maintaining strict sterile technique. This role includes preparing and managing sterile trays, assisting with IV access, and administering contrast media according to established safety guidelines. The technologist also monitors hemodynamic data during procedures, supports valve area readings, and ensures accurate and timely documentation across systems such as Meditech and PACS. Additional responsibilities include handling and disposing of radioactive materials in compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiography procedures. Maintain sterile field and prepare surgical trays throughout procedures. Establish IV access and administer contrast media per protocol. Monitor hemodynamic data and assist with procedural measurements. Document procedures accurately in Meditech and verify imaging in PACS. Ensure proper handling and disposal of radioactive materials. Collaborate with the cath lab team to support safe and efficient procedures. Participate in rotating call coverage and cross-training as needed.
Qualifications:
Current ARRT (R) certification required. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology required. Minimum of one year of experience in Special Procedures, Cath Lab, or EP Lab required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months of hire. Neuro experience preferred. Ability to participate in rotating call schedule and cross-training in cardiac cath lab.
Schedule:
Full-time Monday-Friday, four 10-hour shifts (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM) Rotating weekends Rotating call coverage (approximately 8-10 call days per month)
