Job Description

As a(an) Ultrasound Technician with Corpus Christi Medical Center you can be a part of an organization that is devoted to giving back! Job Summary and Qualifications Responsible for performing and recording measurements and final report of M-mode, two-dimensional Doppler echocardiograms for adults and pediatric patients. Assist practitioners during invasive TEE exams and Stress Testing. Communicate information to physicians. Exhibits good bedside manners dealing with patients, family members, and staff. Proficient in scheduling, explaining procedures to patients and maintaining ultrasound equipment. What you will do in this role: Determines priority on patient care and completes work within appropriate time frame. Delegates work appropriately to job classification with clear concise directions. Ensures accuracy and completeness of work performed. Follows hospital policy and procedure in performing job functions, skills and tasks. Willing to adjust personal schedule in cases of workload fluctuations or other departmental needs. When assigned work is complete, it seeks additional tasks to be done. Perform well in stress and emergency situations, demonstrating effective coping skills. Follows through with assignments and informs supervisor if unable to complete task.
What qualifications you will need:
One year of experience in a cardiac-related field Certification in Basic Arrhythmic Interpretation Certification in Ultrasound Training Program. (RDCS/RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer/ Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date (RVT) Registered Vascular Technician must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date Associate degree Basic Cardiac Life Support Special Skills, Courses, knowledge: Basic cardiac ultrasound course Minimum three months of on-the-job training in echocardiographic.
