Newport News, VA Job Details Full-time 2 days ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Position Summary TPMG Heart and Vascular is looking for an Echo Tech. The Echo Tech position is responsible for conducting echocardiograms, stress testing (with and without echo), contrast studies and saline bubble studies on patients to determine heart disease. Candidates should have proficient clinical and clerical skills, as well as superb customer service skills. Major Duties and Responsibilities Conduct testing according to standard echocardiography and stress echocardiography protocol and procedures. Prepares preliminary report for interpreting physician review. Records patient information into NextGen. Prepare paperwork prior to patients visit. Review patient files for cardiac history and indication for testing, medications prescribed and cardiac history. Works with the physician to ensure patient testing occurs for all studies in a timely and organized fashion. Prepare patients for stress echo, stress testing or transthoracic 2D echo study. Assists with IAC Accreditation (every 3 years) Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of appropriate medical terminology Skill in communicating clearly with diverse publics. Ability to work scheduled hours as defined in the job offer. Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations. Ability to troubleshoot equipment and maintain records for preventative upkeep. Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities. Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions and follow written protocols.
Education / Training
/ Requirements Sonography Registry credentials must be current Associates Degree or equivalent. BLS or ACLS certification required. Physical Demands Ability to conduct 8 studies per day Ability to assist patients throughout the office, as needed Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to climb or balance for limited periods of time. Ability to occasionally reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 30 lbs. • Ability to grasp and hold up to 25 lbs.• Ability to hear normal voice level communications in person or through the telephone. Ability to speak clearly and understandably. Ability to taste and smell.
