Summary Assist with performing stress tests (treadmills, nuclear stress tests, and stress echoes) under the direction of an advanced practice provider for both outpatients and inpatients.

Position Reports To :

Practice Manager Essential Functions Perform stress tests under supervision of Advanced Practice Provider. Explains purpose and procedure of stress test to patient. Patient preparation for testing which includes set up of modified 12 lead EKG and continuous monitoring throughout entirety of test with rhythm identification and interpretation. Maintain/clean stress test machines and equipment. Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise with stress testing equipment. Order supplies/medications.

Qualifications Required:

High school graduate or GED Active MA-C or MA-C Interim OR MA-P with minimum of one-year relevant experience.

Desired:

Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting. Basic computer skills. Basic knowledge of cardiac rhythms. Physical/Sensory Demands O = Occasional, represents 1 to 25% or up to 30 minutes in a 2 hour workday. F = Frequent, represents 26 to 50% or up to 1 hour of a 2 hour workday. C Working Conditions:

Work is performed at a work station and in patient exam rooms, where space may be limited and confined. Requires a combination of working closely with others. Hours may be irregular at times; overtime may be required. Requires working under stressful conditions. General supervision is provided by the Practice Manager with additional instructions, guidance, and directions provided by the providers with whom the Medical Assistant is working.
