1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week acute care assignment at a Level II Trauma facility, requiring RCIS, ACLS, and BLS certifications. Details Acute care cardiac cath lab setting at a Level II Trauma facility 7 total procedure rooms: 4 Cath Lab/EP rooms and 3 IR/Vascular rooms Daily staffing includes 1 RN and 3 Techs in the Cath Lab; EP runs a 3-4 person team; IR staffed with 1 RN and 2 Techs Patient population includes LHC, RHC, PCI, structural heart, Watchman, Impella, IABP, IFR, FFR, IVUS, STEMI, Roto, and Laser cases 20+ total cases per day across all rooms STEMI call team consists of 4 people: 1 RN and 3 Techs Primary schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM, with a rotating day off; 5x8-hour shifts (7:00 AM-3:30 PM) may also be considered Call rotation includes approximately 3 weekday shifts and every 3rd weekend (Friday-Monday) 30-minute call response time required May be asked to cover holiday call EMR is Cerner, transitioning to Epic May float to assist with vascular cases in IR/Vascular rooms Requirements Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience required Active RCIS (via CCI), ACLS (AHA), and BLS (AHA) certifications required License required if applicable Experience with Cath Lab procedures including structural heart, STEMI response, and hemodynamic monitoring Acute care hospital experience required 2 professional references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years of relevant experience Additional Information Responsibilities include preparing procedure suites, ensuring radiation safety setup, calibrating and troubleshooting fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment, pulling supplies, setting up sterile tables, scrubbing in and assisting physicians with device exchange, guidewire manipulation, catheter placement, balloon and stent deployment, managing radiation dose and imaging angles, and performing sheath removals Room turnover duties include cleaning and restocking procedure suites Orientation typically consists of 2-3 full days of training and shadowing, with buddy call in the second week before independent call begins Scrubs are provided; personal scrub caps are permitted Candidates who previously worked at this facility as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their consideration date; hospital approval is required Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a reduced travel pay rate First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but specific experience requirements will be assessed based on placement needs
